Track Layout
Each F1 track is divided into three sectors (Sector 1, 2, and 3).
They help break down a lap to analyze where drivers are gaining or losing time.
Used for:
- Timing and analysis
- Team strategies (e.g., tire performance in different parts of the track)
speed traps are spots on the track where the car’s top speed is recorded.
Points on the track where the system checks the gap between two cars.
If a car is within 1 second of the car in front when it crosses the detection point, it can use DRS (Drag Reduction System) in the next activation zone.
DRS helps with overtaking by opening a flap in the rear wing to reduce drag and therefore increase speed.
